After nearly a year away, Turkish Airlines has officially returned to the Sabre global distribution system (GDS)—a major booking platform used by travel agencies around the world.
The decision marks a significant shift in the airline’s strategy and reopens access for thousands of travel advisors who rely on Sabre to book flights and build client itineraries.
What Is Sabre—and Why Does It Matter?
Sabre is one of the world’s most widely used systems for booking air travel, hotels, and rental cars. When airlines remove their inventory from Sabre, it limits what agents can see, price, and book—often pushing travelers to go direct or use multiple platforms.
For the last 10 months, Turkish Airlines had pulled its fares from Sabre, limiting visibility and access across many agencies.
Now, they’re back—bringing with them a massive global network.
Why This Is Important for Travelers
Turkish Airlines flies to more countries than any other airline in the world, with Istanbul as a powerful hub connecting Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
Their return to Sabre means:
More visibility for travelers using Sabre-connected agencies
Easier flight comparison and multi-leg itinerary planning
Increased access to stopover programs, upgrades, and promos
In short: if you're planning complex or international travel, your options just got broader.
